[ingenting] was formed in Stockholm in 2003 by long time friends Mattias, Tobias, Andreas, Sebastian and Christopher.
The debut EP "ingenting är lätt" was released on Labrador in May 2004. With influences ranging from Velvet Underground and Pixies to Beach Boys and the Swedish 70's, [ingenting] managed to sound like nothing else but themselves. The EP was followed by the album ”Ingenting duger” in the fall of 2004.
The band produced their first album on their own. On the follow up ”Mycket väsen för ingenting” they decided to hand over some of the responsibility to someone else and the choice fell on Håkan Åkesson - more know as the artist Alf in Sweden. They had also gone from a five to a six-piece with the brilliant percussionist Niklas Lundell. The album was equal parts Swedish country side, urban night life and crushed dreams. A slightly schizophrenic and highly wonderful collection of songs.
[ingenting] are right now working on their 3rd album. Working title: "Tomhet, idel tomhet". |
