"Western hospitality" is taken from the upcoming album "The People's Record" due to be released on May 12th in Europe and on May 18th in North America.
The band has travelled to Brazil for inspiration, bought records made in the 70’s in Western Africa, used a percussion player from Cuba and hooked up with producer Jari Haapalainen (The Concretes, Camera Obscura, Ed Harcourt). The result is a unique mix of Swedish pop melodies and African rhythms.

The single ”Days” set the direction for the new Sambassadeur album ”European”. It’s irresistibly catchy, folky and yet exquisitely luxurious in its appeal - you’d picture the band performing the song barefoot under crystal chandeliers. Exquisite!

Limited edition of 500 copies
One of the best indie pop albums of the year according to a lot of people in the press, and possibly the very best if you ask us, is now available on vinyl. Left hand opening and limited edition of 500 copies.

We're proud to present our first 7" release in five years time! This delicate, limited piece is a double A-side [ingenting] single with the current radio hit "Ge tillbaka det" and the utterly beautiful "Dina händer är fulla av blommor".

“Into the Clouds” is effortlessly magical, locating the heart and soul in the pristine beats and loops to create a song that is at once both timeless and futuristic. The perfect starting point for the rest of the world to fall in love with The Sound of Arrows.

The Mary Onettes’ critically acclaimed debut was described as the perfect mix between A-ha and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Now they are back with a grandiose new album. Imagine a Swedish equivalent of The National on a diet of speed, Planet Earth DVDs, and 80’s guitar pop singles and you’ll have a vague idea of how amazing this is.

"This is Swedish pop at its absolute best; lush, gorgeous and impassioned." IT'S A TRAP. Labrador’s only band singing in Swedish return with a brilliant ten track pop album produced by Jari Haapalainen (Camera Obscura, Ed Harcourt, The Concretes).

Every rhythm, sound and melody line on “David" introduce something new to the world of The Radio Dept. Soul guitars, P-funk, cut/paste-beats and 70’s futuristic orchestra sounds echoes between the speakers while glittering, distorted synthesizers seems to sweep through dark holes. Everything has been treated with their peculiar Radio Dept.-filter and it, naturally, sounds totally brilliant.

The single "Seconds away" was described as 'The noisiest pop single to ever come out of Sweden' when it was released this winter and created a huge buzz worldwide - staying at no.1 at Elbo.ws for nearly three weeks! "Over and over" is a brilliantly modern mix of white noise, 60’s girls pop, indie, ambient and krautrock. Hypnotic washes of distorted synthesizers and sweet bouncy melodies echoes under walls of feedback and crushingly loud shimmering guitars. The album includes contribution from Club 8's Karolina Komstedt, The Mary Onettes' Philip Ekström, Tralala's Liane Moccia and more.

He studies on technical college, he named his band after a PC game from 1994 and he writes eccentric pop songs about hate. So yes, we love him! We're very happy to announce the debut release of Labrador's latest signing Little Big Adventure's on May 13.

Grandiose new single by The Mary Onettes. Written in isolation and partly recorded in a church "Dare" still ends up their most uplifting song to date - imagine a Swedish equivalent of The National on a diet of speed, Planet Earth DVDs and Go-Betweens singles and you’ll have a vague idea of how wonderful this is!

The Sound of Arrows has gathered a young chanting school class, a girl singer from Tokyo and a handful of well hidden un-cleared samples which they’ve mixed with bouncy analogue synthesizers, soulful guitars and orchestral instruments over a hundred recording channels. The result is a marvellous mix of old TV shows for children, old school hip-hop, new disco and timeless pop hits!

“Humdrum" was produced in Spain with a view over the Mediterranean. During one week of constant sunshine they created the darkest and finest electronic music we’ve heard in a long time. This is dance music for the lazy, the blazers and for the slightly depressed.

We're very happy to announce the arrival of Pelle Carlberg's 3rd and undoubtably best album to date - "The Lilac Time". Pre-order this gem of a record now and we'll make sure you'll have it in good time for the release date (August 27).
The first single "1983 (Pelle & Sebastian)" was a seductive breeze of a melancholic Swedish summer, borrowed percussion from Rio de Janerio and late nights with Love's "Forever changes" in the headphones, and the rest of the album follows the same lovely path. Pelle has managed to write his finest melodies to this date and his lyrics are so full of exact everyday observations and wry humor it’s close to deadpan.

Club 8’s critically acclaimed album ”The boy who couldn’t stop dreaming” is pop music at it’s most profound, and the most personal, honest and beloved song in the whole collection spells “Jesus, walk with me”. The title track is backed up by four brilliant, exclusive tracks - two brand new songs and remixes by Jimahl and new Labrador signees The Sound of Arrows.

"Freddie and the Trojan Horse" is a first taste of their upcoming album. The new songs are said to be influenced by minimalistic post-punk, krautrock, repetitive "motorik" beat and ambient noise.

The Sound of Arrows treat their own songs like remixes and will present their releases almost like mixtapes. Their approach to music bare some similarity to Saint Etienne around “Foxbase Alpha” or The Avalanches, but they never end up sounding like either. The future of music can not be compared to anything - this is The Sound of Arrows!

Glamour, french sixties, dance-pop, Miami Vice-percussion... Sambassadeur's upcoming single »Final say" is an eclectic mix of influences from the past and snapshots from the future. "Something's lost and nothing's gained, this is my final say" states Anna with a voice that would make Francoise Hardy envious.
»Final say« is backed by the brand new track »Crooked spine«. It's one of very few songs guitarist/songwriter Daniel have sung since their debut album, and possibly the best he’s put his vocals on to date. Imagine a collaboration between early Jesus and Mary Chain, Abba and Carol King produced by Phil Spector and you’ll have a slight idea of what this little gem is all about. Exclusive for this single!

Johan is one half of Suburban Kids with Biblical Names, so some have unavoidably drawn parallels to them, and sure, his vocals are difficult not to recognize. But Johan Hedberg solo is definitely something in its own right. Something different and something new. Wry, eclectic pop hits you can only love.
"Var Dig Själv", the second track from the five-song EP, manages -- like Dungen, Vapnet, or Hello Saferide side project Säkert! -- to transcend the unfamiliar sibilances and Germanic consonants, in this case through bright melodies and lo-fi electronics" PITCHFORK MEDIA

Club 8 returns in the grandest of ways with their sophomore sixth album. "The boy who couldn't stop dreaming" is pop music at its most profound, balancing perfectly between sunshine and melancholia. Twelve songs that’ll make you sing along about death while dreaming of summer days. A glorious return to say the least!
“As summer fades away and the leaves turn a golden shade of brown, The Boy Who Couldn’t Stop Dreaming is the perfect record to keep the days sunny and long, and make us long for dressing up and riding in a Vespa.” THE TRIPWIRE

Gothenburg's finest returns with a new, luxurious sound filled with disco hi-hats, swooping strings and orchestra drums that enhance their deceptively sunny melodies to new heights.
"In all of the Swedish pop acts that I've come across since I started this blog there has not been one that has come close to being as epic as this band is in this lush gem." SIDEONETRACKONE
