NEVER FOLLOW SUIT
12" Vinyl-LAB131

The Radio Department goes dub. The Ep "Never Follow Suit" has, at least at a first glance, more in common with King Tubby and Augustus Pablo than Pet Shop Boys and My Bloody Valentine. Foggy pop melodies find their way through multi-layered soundscapes of panoramic delays, hypnotic bass lines, echo-ing analogue synthesizers and skanky guitar loops.
Limited edition 1000 copies.

1. The one
2. Never follow suit
3. Stay off route
4. On your side
5. Never swallow fruit dub by Pistol Disco

CLINGING TO A SCHEME
CD-LAB105

The long wait is finally over! The Radio Department’s ”Clining to a scheme” is without doubt this year’s most eagerly anticipated Swedish indie pop album. It’s been four long years, but a simple press on Play and you’ll know it’s been worth every second.
“Clinging to a scheme” combines the best components from their previous albums “Lesser matters” and “Pet grief” with soul guitars, P-funk, cut/paste-beats and 70’s futuristic orchestra sounds. Breathtaking!

1. Domestic Scene
2. Heaven's on fire
3. This Time Around
4. Never Follow Suit
5. A Token Of Gratitude
6. The Video Dept.
7. Memory Loss
8. David

10. You Stopped Making Sense

HEAVEN'S IN FIRE
CD/SINGLE-LAB129

A sample from Thurston Moore and The Radio Dept. is back with cracked beats, funky English soul guitars and hazy synthesizer hooks.
"Best pop song of the year so far? Quite possibly. It's a free song from the endlessly ace Radio Dept. GET GET GET" NME Radio!

1. Heaven's on fire
2. All about our love

DAVID
CD/SINGLE-LAB124

Every rhythm, sound and melody line on “David" introduce something new to the world of The Radio Dept. Soul
guitars, P-funk, cut/paste-beats and 70’s futuristic orchestra sounds echoes between the speakers while
glittering, distorted synthesizers seems to sweep through dark holes. Everything has been treated with their
peculiar Radio Dept.-filter and it, naturally, sounds totally brilliant.

1. David
2. Messy enough
3. David (Rice Twins remix)
4. The idle urban contemporaries

FREDDIE AND THE TROJAN HORSE
CD/SINGLE-LAB111

"Freddie and the Trojan Horse" is a first taste of their upcoming album ”Clinging to a Scheme” due to be released on September 10. The new songs are said to be influenced by minimalistic post-punk, krautrock, repetitive "motorik" beat and ambient noise. We'll, hopefully, know if that's true on September 10.

1. Freddie and the trojan horse
2. Closing scene
3. The room, tarzana

WE MADE THE TEAM
DOWNLOAD SINGLE-DLAB002

»We Made The Team« is the new mp3 single by The Radio Dept. The song has been a work in progress since july but the band´s recent visit to London inspired them to finish it and release it immidiately. It's a lazy skank, high on petrol fumes, scottish lager and cream tea. This autmn the Dept. will start recording their third album in Berlin and various South American cities, such as Lima and Sao Paolo. Stay tuned.

THIS PAST WEEK
CD/EP-LAB068

The Cricket described it so well, there’s no
need for us to re-write it. Only translate:

"Something has happened with The Radio Dept. They no longer
need walls of distortion to express themselves, but keep the sounds
quiet, put their trust in the unbelievably beautiful song writing
and in this way manage to get through so much stronger."

Five brand new songs in digipak.

WHERE DAMAGE ISN'T ALREADY DONE
CD/EP-LAB033

The Radio Dept.'s debut on Labrador Records.
Earlier this year they released the wonderful »against the
tide« EP on their own label Slottet. This one is even better.
It's the perfect mix between early The Jesus and Mary Chain and
Saint Etienne they say.

We say it's this year's best Swedish pop band.

2. You and me then?
